Reviews of the Hill House Inn
Our Trip to Mendocino was just amazing!! We stayed the night and the rooms were just breath taking. We came up for a wedding tasting; the food was just what we were looking for along with Jessica the wedding coordinator. She really knows her stuff. she helped us plan the wedding of our dreams. We are so excited and can't wait to see our dream come true. Thank you so much, your team really is the best!

A quaint inn (the exterior has been used in the show “Murder She Wrote”) with furnishings unique to each room. The room included use of robes, coffee maker, high-end toiletries, and ocean view rooms have a wooden deck with Adirondack chairs overlooking the Pacific

Beautiful coastline, and close to Mendocino downtown makes it attractive to stay here.

A trip up the California coast simply isn’t complete without a stop at Hill House Inn in Mendocino, California. It is a charming destination and a lovely inn. Located approximately 3 hours north of San Francisco, it is reached either by the spectacular US 1, the more scenic coastal route, or Highway 101 which is inland, and a little faster. Once there, you'll fall in love with Mendocino’s particularly scenic coastline—a dream setting for photographers, amateur and professional alike! We were greeted by Mary Jo, with a warm welcome and a pleasant check-in experience. The inn has a cozy feel to it and offers some nice amenities, including select pet-friendly rooms. They offer wi-fi connection in their lobby lounge which is only a matter of a few steps from most of the rooms. My favorite room is #29. I was captivated by the walk along the coast, early in the morning. The sun coming up over the water is just magnificent and watching the activity of the birds will keep you busy. So, make sure you bring a camera memory disc with plenty of space because there are endless shots to be had.

Our second day in Mendocino Town was happier and vastly more appropriate for us. I went up to this Beautiful Place at 5:30am, took one look and raced back to the other place to fetch the baggage and my lovely partner. She was alarmed, then charmed; the instant I opened the door and showed her in. When she smiles, I am happy... Not enough can be said for management that tries to please; it is sufficient to laud Paul, the night clerk/manager. Our room was a lower, no stairs to challenge us. There was a King Bed, a large bathroom area, a commodious table that served us very well—all the comforts! The morning included a wonderful Continental Style Breakfast that was ample. My partner went to her all-day meeting, I drove back and killed time with a paper, a hike along the cliffs and having a lunch that I shouldn’t have. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Sabryyah, and Teresa for all their assistance and good will during our stay at the Hill House. The staff was wonderful, and gracious in meeting all our needs and providing a wonderful reception dinner for our 100 + guests and wedding party. The whole experience was wonderful, the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Cabrillo Light house, and coast line in Mendocino made the Wedding experience far exceed our expectations. Thank You, Hill House And Staff.

We traveled from Portland, Oregon down US 101 & Hwy 1 to Mendocino, CA. Staying at different hotels down the coast. This was by far the nicest, friendliest, and most accommodating hotel. When you arrive you walk through beautiful gardens and step into a magnificent hotel lobby. Beautiful decor and warm friendly hotel staff. We were shown different rooms to choose from, one with a garden view and the other a ocean view.
The room had a wonderful fire place, king size bed and plenty of closet space. The decor was Victorian in flavor and was very relaxing. Theresa at the front desk recommended a wonderful place for dinner in town. After we walked around the town and then came back to sit by the fire. Beautiful stay for our last night on the coast.
